—Board Vacancy—Visual Arts Commission
Mayor Mike Huether has announced a vacancy on the Visual Arts Commission.
The Commission supports and encourages development of visual art for community buildings and spaces through its role as an advisory body to the Mayor, City Council, and other City government officials.
The Commission is composed of seven members who are appointed to a three-year term by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Membership must include a diverse mixture of citizen representatives of the community, a member of the board of directors of the Sioux Empire Arts Council, and a practicing visual artist. We are currently seeking applications for a practicing visual artist.
The Commission holds at least four meetings a year, one during each calendar quarter.
