Interstate 229 Open House
The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), City of Sioux Falls, and Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will hold the final public informational meeting/open house to receive public input on the I-229 Major Investment Corridor Study. The open house will be held at the Sioux Falls Convention Center (1101 North West Avenue) on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. A brief presentation will take place at 6:05 p.m.
The open house will be informal, allowing for one-on-one discussion with the study team. The purpose of the open house is to share with the public final considerations for interchange and corridor improvements being reviewed. During this time, you will also have the opportunity to present written comments. The improvement options are a result of both existing or future traffic conditions and current design standards.
A website, www.I229study.com, has been established for the project, which contains information about the various sub-studies. The website allows for online comments to be submitted, and the study team would appreciate hearing from area commuters, concerned citizens, and adjacent landowners and business owners throughout this project.
The open house/informational meeting is being held in a physically accessible place. Any individuals with disabilities who will require a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in the open house/informational meeting should submit a request to the ADA coordinator at 605-773-3540 or 1-800-877-1113 (Telecommunications Relay Services for the Deaf). Please request accommodations no later than two business days prior to the meeting in order to ensure accommodations are available.
