Summer Tutoring

Reading Bridge Summer Tutoring Program

Reading Bridge and Siouxland Libraries partner to provide free summer tutoring for elementary-age children who struggle with reading and writing skills. 

Tutoring is designed for local students (public, private, or home-schooled) entering 1st - 5th grades in Fall 2018. Participants are paired with trained reading tutors for one hour a day, twice a week, for four weeks.

Registration will open Monday, April 16, 2018, for all sites. Please check back for an online registration link. 

Tutoring dates are July 9 - August 2, 2018. Choose from one of the following sessions:

Mondays/Wednesdays: 10-11 a.m., 11 a.m.-12 noon, or 12 noon-1 p.m.
Caille Branch
Downtown Library
Prairie West Branch
Ronning Branch
Colton Branch: tutoring time is 2:15-3:15 p.m. only
Hartford Branch: tutoring times are 10-11 a.m. and 11 a.m.-12 noon only
Humboldt Branch: tutoring time is 4-5 p.m. only

Tuesdays/Thursdays: 10-11 a.m., 11 a.m.-12 noon, or 12 noon-1 p.m.
Brandon Community Library
Oak View Branch
Baltic Branch: tutoring time is 10-11 a.m. only
Crooks Branch: tutoring time is 10-11 a.m. only 
Valley Springs Branch: tutoring time is 2-3 p.m. only

Tutoring sessions are also available for students (public, private, or home-schooled) in the Harrisburg and Garretson school districts. Harrisburg students can register at either Freedom or Liberty Elementary.   

Garretson Elementary:Tuesdays/Thursdays 10-11 a.m., 11 a.m.-12 noon, or 12 noon-1 p.m.
  Harrisburg Freedom: Monday/Wednesdays 10-11 a.m., 11 a.m.-12 noon, or 12 noon-1 p.m.
  Harrisburg Liberty: Tuesdays/Thursdays 10-11 a.m., 11 a.m.-12 noon, or 12 noon-1 p.m.

 

All sessions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
