The City of Sioux Falls Health Department is accepting applications for a part-time HIV Prevention Community Outreach Worker. This is a part-time, non-benefited position involving 15 – 28 hours per week, M-F, based on the clinic needs.

Duties and responsibilities include delivery of HIV and STI testing, treatment of positive STIs (if indicated), providing counseling and education and working closely with DOH to conduct contact investigations for partners of those who tested positive for certain STIs. Training will be provided. The applicant must have a demonstrated interest in working with under-served populations, collaborate and network effectively with other community agencies that provide services to the target population(s), be comfortable working under a physician’s standing orders and willingness to travel to outreach sites and participate in health outreach, community events, and other events as seen fit.

The applicant must have a current and valid license in the state of South Dakota as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or a licensed registered nurse (RN). The qualified applicant should have an interest in public health, data-driven decision making and disease prevention.
