Biography

Greg Neitzert began his public service career in 2011 when he joined the Sioux Falls Zoning Board of Adjustment. He would serve five years. During the 2014 municipal election, he founded and led the Forward Zoning ballot question committee that advocated for the adoption of the Shape Places Zoning Ordinance. In 2015, he served on the Billboard Task Force charged with recommending reforms to the existing billboard ordinance. In 2017, he served on the Annexation Task Force. This ad hoc committee issued several recommendations to the administration and City Council improving the annexation process.

A graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University, Greg received his Bachelor of Science degree in computer science in 2001. He is a lead software engineer with Unisys, a worldwide information technology company.

Greg and his wife Jennifer are the proud parents of Olivia who attends middle school within the Sioux Falls School District. In his spare time, you will see him riding the bike trail, running, attending concerts, enjoying downtown’s sights and sounds, and spending time with family.

Greg was reelected to a second term representing the Northwest District in 2020.
