Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded at approximately 2:15 a.m. to 1309 East Walnut Street for a structure fire.

First arriving crews found smoke and fire coming from a one story towing company and auto repair shop. The fire was on the east side of the structure. Firefighters entered the building. The fire was under control in approximately twenty minutes. The structure sustained smoke damage throughout and fire damage to the office area on the east side of the building.

There was no one in the structure at the time of the fire. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 4 support vehicles, 4 fire trucks, and 20 firefighters. The building did not have a sprinkler system. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
