On Tuesday, November 3, 2009, the intersection of 49th Street and Western Avenue will be closed at 6 a.m. North and south traffic on Western Avenue will be maintained during construction. 49th Street will be closed at the intersection. Traffic on 49th Street will be detoured north at Kiwanis Avenue and south at Elmwood Avenue.

Work will be performed on the traffic signals in the intersection. The traffic signals will be deactivated during construction.

The intersection is expected to reopen to traffic within 48 hours. The prime contractor for the project is Buskerud Construction, Inc. of Dell Rapids, SD.
