Shortly after 2:00AM, Sunday, the 25th, Metro Communications advised Sioux Falls PD units that a SD Trooper was attempting to stop a vehicle that was trying to elude him. Moments later, a Metro update stated that the vehicle had crashed just west of I-29 on 26th Street near Lowes Home Center. Sioux Falls Police, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue, and Rural Metro Ambulance were dispatched to assist at the crash scene. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue had to extricate the lone female driver /occupant. She was transported to Sanford Health via Rural Metro Ambulance with life threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at Sanford Health Hospital.

The SD Highway Patrol requested that the Sioux Falls Police conduct the crash Investigation. The Sioux Falls Police Crash Reconstruction Team was called to the scene and the investigation is continuing at this time.
