Title: Animal Control Seeks Dog Involved in Biting

The Sioux Falls Police Department’s Animal Control Unit needs the public's help in locating a dog that bit an 11-year-old girl near 49th Street and Spencer Boulevard. The incident occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2009.

The victim was walking to school, when a jogger, the dog’s owner, approached with his dog. Even though the victim moved to the grass to let the dog and owner pass, the dog jumped at her and bit her in the right forearm.

Our victim described the dog as yellow in color with curly hair, weighing about 50 pounds. The owner was described as a white male, approximately 30 years of age, around six feet tall with a slender build, and dark complexion. He was wearing a blue jacket, black pants, and a blue cap.

We need to verify that the dog is current on its vaccinations.
