The City of Sioux Falls and the Veterans' Memorial Park Advisory Board will be dedicating a sculpture titled "Going Home" at Veterans' Memorial Park on Saturday, November 7, 2009. The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m.

The Rex Rolfing Family in cooperation with the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation and the Veterans' Memorial Park Advisory Board secured funding to reproduce a larger-than-life sculpture of "Going Home" produced by Artist Sondra Jonson that was displayed on Sculpture Walk in 2007. This sculpture is being dedicated to all of the service men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our country.

Covered seating for the first 240 people will be provided and light refreshments will be served following the event. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the
Sioux Falls Convention Center.

The traveling South Dakota Fallen Heroes banners will also be on display free to the public at the Sioux Falls Convention Center Exhibit Hall 1, Friday, November 6, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 7, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Veterans' Memorial Park is located at the intersection of Bailey Street and Menlo Avenue (north of Terrace Park Aquatic Center and south of Casa Del Rey Restaurant).
