On July 2, 2009, at 1 p.m., there was a strong-armed robbery that occurred at 18th Street and Cleveland Avenue.
A 20-year-old female was standing outside the Laundromat when a vehicle entered the lot. Two males left the vehicle and forcibly took the victim’s purse from her. They left in the vehicle. A short time later they attempted to use the victim’s credit card at a gas station but were not successful.
The victim and an employee at the gas station were able to get a description and license plate of the suspect vehicle. An officer found the vehicle near 18th Street and Norton Avenue. After it was stopped, it was found there were two males, two females, and an infant inside the vehicle.
The two males were eventually arrested for second degree robbery. One adult female was arrested for possession of stolen property. The other juvenile female was not involved and was released with her baby.
Those arrested were:
- Courtney Deshaun Young, 19 years old, from Sioux Falls, for robbery, petty theft, marijuana, and paraphernalia;
- Lindsey Janee Louison, 21 years old, from Le Mars, Iowa, for possession of stolen property;
- A 17-year-old male from Sioux Falls who was charged with robbery.
The victim was not injured. The adults were lodged in the jail and the juvenile was lodged at JDC. |
