A draft of the Shape Sioux Falls 2035 Comprehensive Plan will be first available for public review at an Open House on Tuesday, August 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Orpheum Theater (315 North Phillips Avenue). The Open House will include exhibits and maps from the plan in a self-guided format that allows the public to attend at any time during the Open House hours.
The 2035 Comprehensive Plan consists of ten chapters. The chapters include strategies to effectively manage growth; to plan neighborhoods, land use, and urban form; and to improve the sustainability of the community. Earlier this year, the chapter on Land Use and Development policies (Shape Places) was approved by the City Council after an extensive public involvement process including a visual listening survey.
Staff from the City of Sioux Falls Planning Office will be available to answer questions and take comments. Information on opportunities to become involved in a more in-depth Review Committee process will be available at the Open House. After the Open House, the draft Shape Sioux Falls 2035 Comprehensive Plan will be available for public review at www.siouxfalls.org/planning.
