Title: Public Open House for Rail Yard Relocation Project

The City of Sioux Falls Public Works Engineering division will be hosting a public open house to discuss the Rail Yard Relocation Project.

The open house will be held on October 9, 2008, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Carnegie Town Hall Council Chambers located at 235 West Tenth Street. There will be a brief formal presentation shortly after 5:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend the open house anytime between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. to discuss the project with City of Sioux Falls representatives.

The intent of this meeting is to provide the public an update on the status of the environmental assessment and overall schedule of the project. The alternatives being considered for the new rail switching yard near Rice Street and Timberline Avenue will be available for review. In addition, the alternatives for the new bridge alignments and rail line changes in the existing rail yard area in the downtown Sioux Falls area will also be available for review. The public is encouraged to attend and provide input on the project.
