Beginning on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, construction crews will begin work on Holbrook Avenue from 53rd Street to 57th Street. This closure is for phase one of the Western Heights Water Main Replacement Project. Work will include pavement removal, street grading, water main replacement, curb and gutter repairs, sidewalk construction, and asphalt pavement replacement.

Holbrook Avenue will be closed to through traffic and will be detoured to Jandl Drive. Access to local residences and JFK Elementary School will be maintained.

Holbrook Avenue is anticipated to be opened to traffic by early September 2008. The prime contractor for the project is Winter Brothers Underground of Sioux Falls, SD.
