The City of Sioux Falls plans to hire a Sustainability Coordinator to help coordinate, develop, and implement programs relating to recycling, solid waste diversion, reduction, and disposal of household hazardous waste. The Sustainability Coordinator will also lead the City’s internal efforts to promote the “Leading Green” initiative and serve as the City’s representative advancing community-wide environmental initiatives.

The Sustainability Coordinator position was created by expanding the job duties of the vacant Recycling Coordinator position.
