The Citizens’ Police Academy introduces community members to the daily tasks of the Sioux Falls Police Department.

It is an eight week long course where the students meet one night per week. During this time, the students receive instructions on various topics, including (but not limited to) crime scene investigations, firearms safety, SWAT team tactics, and much, much, more.

The students are also given an opportunity to ride along with an officer on the streets to see what really happens day-to-day.
