The City of Sioux Falls has received a petition from adjacent property owners to construct Louise Avenue from 85th Street to ½ mile south.

The Sioux Falls Capital Improvements Program Committee has recommended this project be designed in 2010 for construction in 2011, pending available funding.

Louise Avenue is a vital commuter link into the city. The City intends to design and construct a four-lane, concrete section on Louise Avenue from 85th Street to ½ mile south. This section will also contain a center median and right turn lanes. This street exists today as a two-lane rural section with approximately 6,000 vehicles per day. The 2025 traffic forecasts are approximately 15,000 vehicles per day.
